Separate crime Investigation Unit: The State Government shall in the Police Stations of such crime-prone areas as may be considered necessary, by order separate the investigation of crimes from law and order and other police functions by creating a Crime Investigation Unit, headed by an officer not below the rank of a Sub-Inspector of police, with appropriate strength of officers and staff, for the investigating crimes.
