Unless otherwise provided elsewhere in this Act, whoever contravenes any provisions of this Act, shall be punishable with fine, which may extend to five hundred rupees and when the breach is a continuing one, with a further fine which may extend to one thousand rupees for every day after first conviction during which an offender is proved to have been persistent in the offence.
