(1) No person shall convene, hold or attend any public meeting in any area of a constituency during the period of 48 hours ending with the hour fixed for the conclusion of the poll for any election in that constituency. (2) Any person, who contravenes the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be punishable with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees.
