(1) There shall be an Executive Committee for every Panchayat Samiti consisting of the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman and the Presidents of all Standing Committees and the Executive Officer of the Panchayat Samiti. (2) The Secretary of the Panchayat Samiti shall act as the Secretary of the Executive Committee. (3) The meeting of the Executive Committee shall be held at least once in a month in the office of the Panchayat Samiti in such manner as may be prescribed. (4) The Executive Committee shall be responsible for co-ordinating the functions between a Standing Committee and the Panchayat Samiti and among the different Standing Committees of the Panchayat Samiti and for monitoring activities of the Gram Panchayats in respect of the schemes, for which funds are allotted by the Panchayat Samiti to the Gram Panchayats for execution of such Schemes. (5) The Executive Committee shall exercise such other powers, perform such other functions and discharge such other duties as may be prescribed or as may be assigned to it by the Panchayat Samiti at a meeting.
