(1) This Act, may be called the Tripura Panchayats Act, 1993. (2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Tripura except the Area which has been or may hereafter be declared as, or included in, a Municipality or a Notified Area under the provisions of any law for the time being in force or a Cantonment under the provisions of the Cantonments Act, 1924 and except the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District. (3) This section shall come into force at once; the remaining sections shall come into force on such date or dates and in such area or areas as the State Government may, by notification, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different Sections and for different areas.
