If, in the opinion of the Municipality, the working of any quarry or the stOl' removal of stone, earth, coal or other material from any place is dangerous to quarrying. life or property, it may direct the persons residing in or having control of such quarry or place to discontinue the working of the same or to discontinue the working of the same or to discontinue the removal of stone, earth, coal or other material from such place or to make such order with such qual-ry or place as it may deem, necessary , for the purpose of preventing danger or abating the nuisance arising or likely to arise therefrom.
