(i) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 29 or Section 30, until the constitution of a sel~ction Committee referred to therein, a University Professor or a University Associate Professor or a University Assistant Professor shall be appointed by the Maharaja Bir Bikram University Council, refened to in sub- section (i) of section 58 on the recommendation of a Selection Committee, constituted by the said Council in such manner as it thinks fit, which shall include as its member at least one person not holding any office of profit under the University and having special knowledge of the subject which the Professor or the Associate Professor or the Assistant Professor, as the case may be will teach, nominated by the Chancellor. (ii) lf the Maharaja Bir Bikram University Council does not accept the recommendations of the Selection Committee the provisions of sub-section (ii) of Section 29 shall apply mutatis mutandis.
