(1) No society shall, without sufficient cause, refuse admission to membership to any person duly qualified therefore under the provisions of this Act and its bye- laws. “If no decision is communicated by the Society to any such person within one month from the date of receipt of his application for membership by the Secretary of the Society or any other person authorised, it will be presumed that the application for membership has been granted by the Secretary and he has been admitted as a member of the Society. Note: - Every person after submitting application for membership shall obtain a receipt from the Secretary of the society concerned and the period of one month shall be computed from the date of receipt of such application by the Secretary of the Society.”1* (2) Any person aggrieved by the decision of a society, refusing his admission to its membership, may appeal to the State Government. (3) The decision of the State Government in appeal, shall be final and the State Government shall communicate its decision to the parties within fifteen days from the date thereof. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1* Inserted by Tripura Co-operative Societies Amendment Act, 1980 24 (1) notwithstanding anything contained in section 22, a society may admit any person as a nominal or sympathiser member. (2) A nominal member or sympathiser member shall not be entilled to any share in any form whatsoever in the profits or assets of the society as such member. A nominal or Open membership. Nominal and sympathizer member 20 sympathiser member shall ordinarily not have any on the privileges and rights of a member, but such a member may, subject to the provisions of sub-section (8) of section 27, have such privileges and rights and be subject to such liabilities of a member, as may be specified in the bye-laws of the society.
