Licensing authority. The authority having power to grant licences under, this Act (hereinafter 5 referred to as the licensing authOrity) shall be the District Magist1ate: Provided that the State Government may, by notification in the OfliCial Gazette, constitute for the whole or any part of the State of Tripuia such other authority as it may specify in the notificatiOnto be the licensing authority for the purposes of this Act.
