Constitution of Rent Control Courts and appointments of Accommodation Controllers. (1) The State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint a person who is or is qualified to be appointed, as Munsiff to be the Rent Control Court for such local areas as may be specified therein. (2) The State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint any officer not below the rank of a Sub-Deputy Collector to be the Accommodation Controller for any area to which this Act applies. (3) The Accommodation Controller shall exercise his powers and perform his functions subject to such general directions as the State Government may issue.
