Power of Govevnment in respect of awards.--(1) Ifthe Government is of opinion that it is inexpedient on public grounds cffecting rationa economy social justice to give effect to the whole or any part cf an award referred 6 in sub-section (5) of section 15, it may by Notification in the official Gazette declared that the award shall not become enforceable on the expiry of the period imentioned in sub-section (7) of the said section. (2) Where any declaration has been made in relation to an award ander sub-section (1), the Government may within thirty days from the date of publication of the award under sub -section (6) of section 15 make an order rejecting or modifying the award and such order shail be published in ‘the official Gazette. (3) Where no order has been passed by the Government under sub- section (2), the award shall become enforceable on the expiry of the period of thirty days mentioned in that sub-section. (4) Where an order has been made by the Government under sub- section (2), the award shall not be enforceable or, as the case may be, the award. as modified shall be erforceable on the expiry of a pericd of five days from the date of publication of such order in the official Gazette.
