(1) With effect from such date as the Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint, there shall be established a University by the name of the Young India Skills University, Telangana (Public-Private Partnership) comprising of the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, the Board of Governors, the Executive Council and the Academic Council Incorporation of the University. 4 [Act No.13 of 2024] of the University and all such persons as may hereafter be appointed to such office or as members so long as they continue to hold such office or membership. (2) The University shall be a body corporate with the name aforesaid having perpetual succession and a common seal with power, subject to the provisions of this Act, to acquire, hold and dispose of property and to contract and may, by the said name, sue or be sued. Provided that the land acquired and building constructed with the assistance of the Government shall not be disposed without the prior approval of the Government. (3) The University shall be a Centre for Excellence engaged in teaching and in current and emerging sectors of skills and skill integrated education, focusing on industry & service sector demanded skill sets with hands-on work exposure through apprenticeships & internships, the primary objective being to enhance the employability of students by making them industry-ready. The Skill University shall also promote inter-disciplinary skill education with diversity in instruction at all levels. Skill Courses would be conducted in conventional mode and also blended and online mode as per the pattern suitable for the target groups.
