(1) There shall be a Rector who shall be appointed by the Executive Council on the recommendations of the Vice- Chancellor in such manner and on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Statutes from among the senior faculty in the University. Rector. [Act No.13 of 2024] 19 (2) The Rector shall perform such duties and exercise such functions and powers as the Vice-Chancellor may specify and shall assist the Vice-Chancellor on academic and administrative matters. (3) The term of the Rector shall be co-terminus with the term of Vice-Chancellor.
