(1) The Government may appoint an officer with experience in cane to be Deputy Cane Commissioner for the purposes of this Act. (2) A Deputy Cane Commissioner shall exercise such powers and discharge such functions of the Cane Commissioner as the Government may direct or as the Cane Commissioner may delegate to him.
