(1) The State Government may appoint any person they think fit to be a Veterinary Surgeon for the purposes of this Act within such local limits as they may assign to him. (2) The State Government may appoint any person they think fit to be an Inspector for all or any of the purposes of this Act within such local limits as they may assign to him. (3) A Veterinary Surgeon shall within the local limits assigned to him have all the powers of an Inspector under this Act, and may exercise such powers concurrently with his powers as Veterinary Surgeon. (4) Every person appointed under this section shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of the Indian Penal Code.
