Nothing contained in this Act shall be deemed to prevent the appointment of the same officer as the Registrar General of Births, Deaths and Marriages under this Act, and as Registrar General of Births and Deaths under any other law for the time being in force and where the same person holds both the appointments the provisions of this Act shall have effect subject to the following modifications:- (a) The provisions of sub-section (2) of section 2 shall have effect as though it required that the certified copies of all entries of births and deaths referred to in that sub-section shall be sent by the prescribed officer at prescribed intervals from the Office of the Registrar General of Births and Deaths to the Office of the Registrar General of Births, Deaths and Marriages; (b) The provisions of section 6, so far as it permits the general superintendence by the Registrar General of Births, Deaths and Marriages over the Registrar General of Births and Deaths shall be deemed to be omitted.
