Any 1 [XXX] landholder or any other person shall be entitled to reasonable compensation for any loss or damage occasioned to him by, or in the course of the execution of work done, under sections 5, 7, 9 or 11. The amount of compensation shall be fixed by the 2 [Collector] after such inquiry as he may deem fit.
