Definitions. 2 [Act No. XXXIX of 1956] (e) “licensee” means the holder of a licence granted under this Act for a public conveyance, driver or animal; (f) “licensing year” means the year commencing on such date as may be prescribed; (g) “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (h) “public conveyance” means any wheeled vehicle, drawn or propelled on the roads and used for the purpose of plying for hire, for the conveyance of persons or goods but does not include a motor vehicle as defined; in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939, or a vehicle running on fixed rails.
