(1) No person shall beg in a public place after the commencement of this Act and it shall be an offence punishable under this Act, if any person is found begging in a public place. (2) Any person who is found begging in a public place shall be liable to be punished under section 27 or dealt with in the manner provided in Chapter-III. CHAPTER-III ARREST OF BEGGARS AND THE PROCEDURE FOR COMMITTING THEM TO CERTIFIED INSTITUTIONS, ETC.
