(1) Whoever is found begging in contravention of the provisions of section 3 shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than six months but shall not be more than two years or with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees or with both. (2) Whoever, after having been convicted under sub-section (1), is again convicted for a second time, he shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which shall be not less than two years but shall not be more than three years.
