The Board or the Secretary exercising powers under this Act shall for the purposes of such functioning have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, while trying a suit, in respect of the following matters, namely:- Protection of actions taken in good faith. Bar of Jurisdiction of Civil Courts. Nomination of the first Board. Compounding of offences. Power to take evidence on oath etc. Central Act 5 of 1908. 24 [Act No.38 of 2006] (a) Enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath; (b)Requiring the discovery and production of documents; (c) Receiving evidence on affidavit; (d) Issuing notices for the examination of witnesses; (e) Such other matters as may be prescribed.
