(1) The Government, may by notification in the Official Gazette establish a Board to be called the Mines Board of Health, for carrying out the purposes of this Act in any Mining Settlement specified in such notification. (2) The said Board shall, by the name of the Mines Board of Health of the area by reference to which the Mining Settlement is known, be a body corporate and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal with power to hold and acquire property, both movable and immovable and, subject to such restrictions as may be prescribed, to transfer any such property held by it and to do any other thing necessary for the purposes of this Act, may sue and be sued in its corporate name.
