(1) There shall be constituted a Planning Board of the University which shall advise generally on the Planning and development of the University and to maintain excellence in the standards of education and research of the University. (2) The Planning Board shall consist of the following members, namely:- (i) the Vice-Chancellor who shall be Chairman of the Board; and (ii) not more than eight persons of high academic standing nominated by the Chancellor in consultation with the Vice-Chancellor of whom atleast two persons shall be from outside the State and one shall be nominee of the University Grants Commission for such period as the Chancellor may determine 22[and one shall be a nominee of the Medical Council of India.] (3) The Board shall in addition to all other powers vested in it by this Act have the right to advise the Executive Council on any academic matter.
