(1) The Executive Council shall meet at such times and places and shall, subject to the provision of clauses (2) and (3) observe such rules of procedure in regard to transaction of business at its meetings (including the quorum at meetings) as may be prescribed: Provided that the Executive Council shall meet atleast once in every six weeks and may meet more often if necessary. (2) The Vice-Chancellor or in his absence any member chosen by the Members present shall preside at a meeting of the Executive Council. (3) Upon a requisition in writing signed by not less than one third of the total number of Members of the Executive Council, the Vice-Chancellor shall convene a meeting of the Executive Council on a date appointed by him which shall not be later than seven days from the date of receipt of requisition aforesaid. [Act No.6 of 1986] 45 (4) All questions at any meeting of the Executive Council shall be decided by a majority of the votes of the members present and voting and in the case of an equality of votes, the Vice-Chancellor or the member presiding, as the case may be, shall have and exercise a second or casting vote. (5) (a) The Executive Council may, for the purpose of consultation, invite any person having special knowledge or practical experience in any subject under consideration to attend to any meeting. Such person may speak in, and, otherwise take part in the proceedings of the meeting but shall not be entitled to vote; (b) the person so invited shall be entitled to such daily and travelling allowances as are admissible to a member of the Executive Council. 20[THE ACADEMIC SENATE
