Substituted by Act No.11 of 1999. Prohibition of structures or fixtures which cause obstruction in streets. Prohibition of depositing etc., of thing in streets. [Act No. II of 1956] 283 311[(2) Whoever contravenes the provisions of sub- section (1) shall on conviction, be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees or with both. (3) Any thing placed or deposited in contravention of the provisions of sub-section (1) may be seized by the Commissioner or any other person duly authorised by him in this behalf, and on conviction for an offence under sub- section (2) the Court may also pass such order as it thinks fit respecting the disposal of such thing including confiscation of such thing.]
