(1) On the written requisition of a Secretary to the Government the Commissioner may at any time undertake the execution of any work certified by such Secretary to be urgently required in the public service, and for this purpose may temporarily make payments from the municipal fund, so far as the same can be made without unduly interfering with the regular working of the Municipal Government. The cost of all work so executed and of the establishment engaged in executing the same shall be paid by the Government and credited to the Municipal Fund. (2) On receipt of any requisition under sub-section (1), the Commissioner shall forthwith forward a copy thereof to the Corporation, together with a report of the steps taken by him in pursuance of the same.
