The allowance to be paid to the Commissioner or to a 167[Special Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Zonal Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner] for absence on leave shall be of such amount not exceeding respectively the amount of the salary of the Commissioner or a 167[Special Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Zonal Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner] as shall be determined by the Government: Provided that if the Commissioner or a 167[Special Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Zonal Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner] is a salaried servant of the Government, the amount of such allowance shall be regulated by the rules in force, relating to the leave allowance of the officers of his class.
