Where the Forest Settlement Officer finds it impossible, having due regard to the maintenance of the reserved forest, to make such settlement under section 11 as shall ensure the continued exercise of the said rights to the extent so admitted, he shall direct the Forest Department to pay compensation as determined on the basis of the value of such right on the date of notification under section 4, in accordance with the provisions of the 9Land Acquisition Act, 1894, in so far as such provisions are applicable.
