In this Act unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (a) „ward‟ means any person whose property or whose person and property has or have been taken under the custody and superintendence of the Court of Wards under this Act or by a Firman of H. E. H. the Nizam 7[passed before the commencement of the Constitution of India] or an owner whose property has been notified under section 13, to have been taken under the superintendence of the Court of Wards; (b) „owner‟ shall mean the following persons:- (1) any person who owns land or has a life interest therein.
