(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Wakf Act, or In my SpialOfflcer a@ other law for $he time being in force, oq in any d m or order of any Court. vesting of properties wa~f Board in tribunal or other atuthority, on and from the appointed day, the aovenunent the Government. shall appoint a person who shall be a Mwlim aa Special Officer t o manage the @flairs of the Wakf Board and all property vested in the Wakf Eoard shall, till the reconstitution of the Wakf Board under sub-section (5), vest iu the Government. (3) The Special Officer alppointed under sub-sectjon (1) shall h?ld office for a psriod of one year, or such earlier period as the Government itrzay, by notificatio?, specify in this hhalf : Provided that if any vacancy a b in the office of the Special Officer the vmmcy shall be filled up by the Government and the person so appointed 'in the vacancy Bhdl hold office for the remainder of the said perid. (3) The Special Officer cippointed under sub-section (1) shall, subjwt to the control of the Government and to such direction as they may, from bimc to time, give, exercise all the powers and perform all the duties which may, by or under the provisionq of the Wakf Act, be exercised aind perforlned by or on behalf of Ohe Wakf Board. (4) The Government may fix the remuner'ation payable to the Special Officer a~pointed under sub-section (1) and the amount of remuneratio~ so fixed and such other expenditure incidental to the management of the Wakf Board, during the period of appointment of the Special OEticer as may be approved by the Government, shall be payable from the Wakf Fnnd.
