After section 75 of the principal Act, the following section shall be inserted, namely:— “75-A. Establishment of commercial projects.— The council may, with the approval of the Government, either on its own or through public or private participation mode, undertake the planning, construction, operation, maintenance or management of commercial infrastructure projects, including district centres, community and neighbourhood shopping centres, industrial estates, bus or truck terminals and tourist lodges with commercial complexes or any other type of commercial or community project.”.
