The appointment of “Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited” as an Optional Procurement Agency for procurement of handicraft items by Government Departments / State Public Sector Undertakings and State Autonomous Bodies, on the following terms:- (a) Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited shall procure products manufactured by its production units and artisans registered with it; (b) For procurement of services and other products, which are not produced by Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, but essential to the buyers, as per their requirement, the procedure laid down in Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tenders Act, 1998 (Tamil Nadu Act 43 of 1998) and Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tenders Rules, 2000 shall be followed and the percentage of such procurement shall be comparatively lesser than percentage procured from own production centre and registered artisans; (c) Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited shall charge reasonable service charges to ensure that their quotes are cost competitive.
