Testing of weights and measures.- The Executive Authority or the Commissioner or the 1[Secretary] or any person authorised by him, may examine and test the weights and measures used in the markets and shops in the Panchayat Village or the Panchayat Union Council or the District Panchayat area as the case may be, with a view to the prevention and punishment of offences relating to such weights and measures under Chapter XIII of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Central Act XLV of 1860).
