Lighting of public roads and public places.- Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (b) of Section 111, the Government may, by general or special order, direct any 1[Village Panchayat or Panchayat Union Council or District Panchayat] to provide for lighting of public roads and public places within its jurisdiction and it shall be the duty of the 1[Village Panchayat or Panchayat Union Council or District Panchayat] to provide for such light: 62 Provided that where such a direction is given, the Government shall make such provision for the cost of lighting as they may consider reasonable and the decision of the Government shall be final.
