(1) The Chancellor shall have the right to cause an inspection or inquiry, to be made, by such person or persons, as he may direct, of the University, its buildings, museums, workshops and equipments and of any institution maintained, recognized or approved by the University and also of the examination, teaching and other works conducted or done by the University and to cause an inquiry to be made in respect of any matter connected with the University. The Chancellor shall in every case give notice to the University of his intention to cause such inspection or inquiry to be made and the University shall be entitled to be represented thereat. (2) The Chancellor shall communicate to the Executive Council his views with reference to the results of such inspection or inquiry and may, after ascertaining the opinion of the Executive Council thereon, advise the University upon the action to be taken and fix a time limit for taking such action. (3) The Executive Council shall report to the Chancellor through the Vice-Chancellor, the action, if any, which is proposed to be taken or has been taken upon the result of such inspection or inquiry. Such report shall be submitted within such time as the Chancellor may direct. (4) Where the Executive Council does not take action to the satisfaction of the Chancellor within a reasonable time, the Chancellor may, after considering any explanation furnished or representation made by the Executive Council, issue such directions as he may think fit and the Executive Council shall comply with such directions. In the event of the Executive Council not complying with such directions within such time as may be fixed in that behalf by the Chancellor, the Chancellor shall have power to appoint any person or body to comply with such directions and make such orders as may be necessary for the expenses thereof.
