Admisston to University courses-(I) ~ o l ~ e r s o n shall be admitted to a coupe of study or training in a College or University laboratory or 4n approved institution to appear for any examination held by the Univer-. . sity for cpnfenkg any degree, diploma or other academic distinction unless he,- . I I . (a), has passed the qualifying examination therefor by the University ; and I I ' (b) fulfils such other conditions as may be prescribed by the regulations. . - (2) ~ @ e Governing Council may, on the recommendation' of the Standing Academic Board, exempt from -the provisions of sub-section (1) " 'candidate who has undergone an equivalent course of study or , q y l tralning in any college or institution outside the University area. ' 4 I 6) The cluestion whether such candidate has undergone the equiva- lent course of study or training shall be decicted by the St::nding Academic Board with ,reference to the1 syllabus, the course contents and the period of study or training.
