Where the intestate has not left surviving him his mother or any child or lineal descendant in the female line through a deceased daughter, but has left a widow or widows and his mother's tavazhi, one-half of the property shall devolve on his widow or widows and the other half on his mother's tavazhi. In the absence of the mother's tavazhi, the whole of the property shall being to the widow or widows and in the absence of a widow, the whole of the property shall belong to the mother's tavazhi.
