The Local Government at any time after the passing of this Act transfer to the Transfer of University the control and Government management of any of its Institution to institutions on such terms and University conditions, as it may deem proper.* 1 Substitution of new Section by Madras University Amendment Act 1966 (Madras Act II of 1966). The following sentence was omitted by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937:- “In the case of such transfer, the Local Government shall make a contribution annually of a sum equivalent to the average annual net expenditure from Provincial Funds on the institution during the three years immediately preceding the year of transfer.” * THE MADRAS UNIVERSITY ACT, 1923 75 CHAPTER X TRANSITORY PROVISIONS
