Other Members (1) Six members elected by the Senate from among its members. (2) Five members elected by the Academic Council from among its members of whom four shall be teachers of affiliated colleges and the remaining shall be a teacher of an approved college; (3) Three members nominated by the Chancellor; (4) Three University professors from among the Heads of Departments of study and research, schools of excellence or centres of advanced studies, nominated by the Chancellor on the recommen- dation of the Vice-Chancellor, by rotation among such Departments, Schools and Centres. (5) One University Reader nominated by the Vice-Chancellor by rotation according to seniority, and (6) One University lecturer nominated by the Vice-Chancellor by rotation according to seniority. *[b](i) Save as otherwise provided, elected and nominated mem- bers of the Syndicate shall hold office for a period of three years and such members shall be eligible for re-election or re-nomination. (ii) Where a member is elected or nominated to the Syndicate to a casual vacancy, the period of office held for not less than one year by any such member shall be construed as a full period of three years for the purpose of this clause.
