(1) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the principal executive officer of the University and shall in the absence of the Chancellor and Pro- Chancellor, preside at meetings of the Senate and at any Convocation of the University. He shall bea member ex-officio and \(Chairman of the Syndicate, the Academic Council and the Finance Committee) and shall be entitled to be present at and to address any meeting of any authority of the University but shall not be entitled to vote thereat unless he is a Member of the authority concerned. (2) It shall be the duty of the Vice-Chancellor to ensure that the provisions of this Act, the Statues, Ordinances and Regulations are faithfully observed and carried out and he may exercise all powers necessary for this purpose.
