For the purpose of such enquiry the Forest Settlement Officer may exercise the following powers (that is to say):- Powers of Forest Settlement Officer (a) power to enter, by himself or any officer authorized by him for the purpose, upon any land, and to survey, demarcate and make a map of the same; and (b) the powers conferred on a Civil Court by the Code of Civil Procedure for compelling the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents.
