(1) For the advancement and promotion of learning and knowledge of law, there shall be established a University by the name “The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University”. (2) The University shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said name. (3) The headquarters of the University shall be located within the limits of the Madras Metropolitan Planning Area as defined in clause (23-a) of section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971.
