(1) (a) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Co-operative Societies Act, or in any other law for the time bcing in f a , or jn any decree' .or order of any coy%, tribunal or other authority, on and from the appointed day, the Government shall appoint a person as Special Olfficer to manage the affaim of any primary society referred to in section 3. ( 8 ) Nothingr,in this sub-section aha11 prcvent the appointnxat of the same person as Special Officer for two or more printarg .soueties. (2) Zach Special Officer appointed under sub-section (1) &all hold, office lIor a period of one year with effect on and from tho appointed day or for sueh shorter period as the Qavernment may, by notification, ~pccify in this behalf : Proyided that if ;any vacancy arim in the office of the Special Officer, the vacancy shall be Elled up by the Goverm~cnt :nld the pewon so appointed in the vacancy shall hold office for the remainder of the said pcriod. (3) The Special OfRmr appointed uud& sub-section (I), subject to the control of the Registrar and to such directions as he may, from time to time, %be, shhdl exercise all or any of the functions of the b o d or of any ottlcer of the primary society and talce such adon as may be required in the interest of sr,ch primary society. (4) The Government may fix the remunerhon payable to the Special Q f i c e ~ appointed under sub-section (1) and the amount of remuneration so fkcd and ~uch other kxpunditure incidental to the management of the primary society as may be approved by the Begistrar, hall, subject to such dimtions t.uq the ~overmneht m y give in this regard, be pay$le froin the funds of .such primary society. (5) The Spedal Ollicer appointed, under. sub-section (1) ahdl arrange for the constitution of a new board in accordance with the prcwisions of the Cb-operative Societiq Act and the rules made thereunder and the by-laws of such primary society, so that the new board may he constituted an6 the mem- - bers thereof come' into office at the expiry of the period of appqintment of the Special Oficer.
