Repeal and saving. THE CHENNAI CITY POLICE (EXTENSION TO THE CITIES OF AVADI AND TAMBARAM) ACT, 2022 ACT NO. 07 OF 2022 [21st January 2022] An Act to extend the provisions of the Chennai City Police Act, 1888 to the Cities of Avadi and Tambaram. BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Seventy-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:— 1.Short title and commencement. — (1) This Act may be called the Chennai City Police (Extension to the cities of Avadi and Tambaram) Act, 2022. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of January 2022.
