(1) Notwithstanding anything containrd in the Transfer of Madras University Act, 1923 (Tam)] Nadu Act VII of^^^$^^^^ 1923) relating to the establ~shment of the University of to the Madras or the statutes,ordinances, regulations and orders University. made thereunder, on and from the appointed day, the College of Engineering, Gulndy, Madras and the institu- tions specified In Schedule I shall be disaffiliated from the University of Madras to.whlch they were aEliated on the date immediately preceding such day. The institutions spcificd in Sohtdule I ehall firm conslitutent ~olleges of the University and the provisions of this Act shl] apply accordingly. (2) On and from the appointed day,. the control and management of the College of Englneerlng, Guindy, Madras and the institutions specified in Schedule 1, all properties, assets and liab,litits of the Govtrnmt nt, the University of Madras and the Governing Council of Madras Institute of Technology in relation thereto shall stand transferred to and vest in the University. 125-10-57 (3) The Government may, at any time after the appointed day, transfer to the Univ~rsity any of their lands for its use on such terms and wnditions as they deem proper. 898 h University (4) The Government may, at any time after the appointed day, transfer to the University the control and managtmtnt of any of their colleges and institutions situated within the jurisdiction of the University on such terms and conditions as they deem proper. (1) Notwithstanding anyding contained in this provisions for Act, the statutes, ordlnancts or regulations, every student students. of the College of Englnecrlng, Ciulndy, Madras and of every lns~itutio? speclfitd In Schedule I who immediately before the appointed day was studying In that College of Engineering, Guindy, Madras or ~nsti~utlon or was &glble for any examination held or conducltd by the University of Madras or the Madras Institute of Technology as the case may be, shall be permitted to complbte h ~ s course of study or be admitted to the examination of the University and the University shall make arrangements - (a) for the instruction, teaching, training and holding examination for such students for such period and In such manner as may be determintd bg the first vice-Chanctllor in accordance wlth the course of study in the University of Madas or the Madras Institute of Technology, as the case may be ; and I (b) for the conferment of the corresponding degree, diploma or other academic distinctions of the universityupon the qualified student on the result of such examination. I 978 : T.N. ~ c t 301 A m University 899 1[(2) Notwithstanding anything ccntaint d in sub- section (1) or any other provisions of this Act, every person who, immediately b~fore the appointed day, was a student of- (i) the College of Engineering, Guindy, Madras or of any of ths institutions specified in item O of Scaedule r ; or (ri) the M.E. or M.So., (Applied Mathematics) Courses of the Madras Institute of Technology, shall be admitted lo the examinations held or conducted by the Univzrsity of Msdras and the corresponding degree, diploma or other academic distinctions of the Univ~rsityof Madras shall be ccinftrred upon the qualified students on the result of such examination, by the Univer sity of Madras.].
