In section 3 1 of the principal Act; in sub-section (I), for clause !ill the following Amendment or clause shall be substituted, namely:- sectjon 3 I. "(i) the admission of the students to the University, its constituent colleges and to its affiliated college^;^^. 15.In section 33 of the principal Act,- ( 1 ) in sub-sect ion (1 ).- ( A ) for the expression "the college of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai", the expression "the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai, specified in Schedule I" shall be substitut'ed; (b) for the expression "Schedule I" in two places where it occurs. the expression "Schedule I-A" shall be substituted; (2) 'in sub-section [ I ) , for the expression "the Collcze of Engineering, Guindy, Chen~iai and thc institutions specified in Schedule I", the expression "the Colle'ge of Engineerins. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-seclion(l), all statutes, clrdinanccs and regulations made under the University Acts and in force on the notified date shall, in so far as rhey art not inconsistenr with the provisions of this Acr. conrinue to be in Force in respect ofthe colleges and institutions referred to in the said sub-section ( 11, until they are replaced by statutes, ordinances and regulations made under this Act. (4) Notwithstanding anything'contained in [his Act, the sratutes. ordinances and regulations continued in force under sub-section (3) or made undcr this Act, every person who immediately before the academic year 2001-2002 was a student of a college or instilutionwitliin tht University areas affiliated to, or approved o r mairtained by, the Chennai, Madurai-Kamaraj, Bharathiar, Bhcr3r?i-l~cm Manonmqniam Sundaranar and Periyar Uniiersiries or w ~ s eligible to appear for any of rhe exatninations in engineering, technology and allied sciences uf the said Universities. shall be permitted to complete his course of srudy in the relpective Universities; and !he Anna University shaIl make ' arrangements for the instruction, teaching and training Tor such students for such period and in such manner as may be determined by the Anna University. in accordance with the course of study, in the respective Universities, and such students shall, during such period, be admitted to the examinations held or conducted by the respeclive Universities and the'corresponding degree, diploma or other academic distincriclns.of the Univcrsi~ies shall be conferred upon the qualified sludents on the result of such examinations, by the Universities concerned. ( 5 ) All colleges wilhin thr U~riversity area which immediatelybefore the nolified date.- ( ( I ) co~llinue to be affiliated to, or recognised by. the Chenaai. Madurai-Kamaraj.
