Whoever sells, delivers or disposes of, or causes to be sold, delivered or dis- posed of, any weight .: r measure which has been rejected on verification under this Act or the Central Act, or any rule made under either of the said Acts, shall be punished with imprisonment for a terms which may extend to one year, and with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both: Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to the sale, as scrap, of any rejected weight or measure which has been defaced in the prescribed manner.
