Section 16

Ready for recycling certificate.

(1) The owner of a ship who intends to recycle his ship shall make an application to the National Authority for a ready for recycling certificate in such form, manner, and accompanied by such fee as may be specified by the regulations or the Administration concerned as per the procedure determined by such Administration. (2) A ready for recycling certificate referred to in sub-section (1) may be issued after successful completion of a survey and shall be valid for a period of three months from the date of its issue: Provided that the period of validity may be extended by the National Authority for such reasons as may be specified by the regulations or the Administration concerned as per the reasons determined by such Administration. (3) A ready for recycling certificate shall cease to be valid, if the condition of the ship does not correspond with the particulars of the certificate.
