Section 14

Term of office, vacancies among, and allowances payable to, members of Governing Body.

(1) Save as otherwise provided in this section, the term of office of a member of the Governing Body, other than an ex officio member, shall be for a period of three years from the date of nomination. (2) The term of office of an ex officio member shall continue so long as he holds the office by virtue of which he is a member. (3) The term of office of a member nominated to fill a casual vacancy shall continue for the remainder of the term of the member in whose place he has been nominated. (4) Notwithstanding anything contained in this section, an outgoing member shall, unless the Governing Body otherwise directs, continue in office until another person is nominated as a member in his place. (5) The members of the Governing Body shall be entitled to such travelling and other allowances as may be laid down in the Statutes, but no member shall be entitled to any salary by reason of this sub-section.
