Veterinary and Animal Sciences Extension Education Organization. - (1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, the University shall establish a Veterinary and Animal Sciences Extension Education Organization which shall make available the information obtained on the basis of research to students, extension workers, livestock farmers, fish farmers and fishermen and shall conduct demonstration and training programmes for the benefit of such persons in co-operation with the government departments concerned. (2) The University shall undertake such veterinary and animal sciences extension activities as are necessary- (a) to inform and demonstrate to the livestock farmers, fish farmers and fishermen the findings and developments of research on improved practices essential to uplift the conditions of the rural living; (b) to increase animal production with special emphasis on food productions and utilization; (c) to multiply the new breeds and improved strains evolved or introduced by the Veterinary and Animal Sciences Research Organization; and (d) to establish veterinary clinics to inform and demonstrate to field veterinarians the newer technology in the field of clinical subjects as well as to train the students in rural health management of livestock. (3) The Veterinary and Animal Sciences Extension Organization shall be developed under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education.
